Golden Triangle with Amritsar – Shimla

 

Day 1: Arrival Delhi:

On your arrival at Delhi International Airport you will be welcomed by your tour escort. You can find him easily as he will be there at the arrival lounge holding a placard of your name. After meet & greet transfer to your pre booked hotel. The rest of the day, if any, is at leisure to settle in, and recuperate from your international journey. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2: Delhi – Amritsar:

After breakfast board a direct flight to Amritsar. On arrival, check-in to your hotel and begin your tour with the blessings of Sri Harmandir Sahib, the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion, also known as the Golden Temple. Visit Jallianwala Bagh memorial and then continue to Wagah Border (Indo-Pak border) to witness the flag retreat ceremony. Overnight stay in Amritsar.

Day 3: Amritsar – Chandigarh:

Early breakfast and then depart by road to Chandigarh – The City Beautiful. Start your tour of this picturesque city with a visit to the Rock Gardens, an open-air exhibition of sculptures made from urban and industrial waste. Later, visit the stunning Rose Garden and the Open Hand Monument. Overnight stay in Chandigarh.

Day 4: Chandigarh – Shimla:

Early breakfast and then depart by road to Shimla, a beautiful city situated in the Himalayan foothills. Rest of the day free to explore the beauty of Shimla. Overnight stay in Shimla.

Day 5: Shimla:

After breakfast visit Shimla State Museum and Jakhu Temple. Continue your tour to The Vice Regal Lodge, a British colonial building in charge of history. Take a stroll down Mall road and enjoy the scenic views of nature while shopping and sipping your favorite coffee. End your day at The Ridge and Christ Church, the hub of all Shimla’s cultural activities. Overnight stay in Shimla.

Day 6: Shimla – Delhi:

After breakfast, drive to Shimla Railway Station where you will board the Shimla Toy Train to Kalka. Admire the spectacular mountain panorama on this captivating train route. The Kalka-Shimla toy train has now come under the world heritage list of UNESCO and is one of the most scenic train journeys in India! Upon arrival at Kalka Railway Station, change platform and board the train to Delhi. Upon arrival at New Delhi Railway Station, transfer to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 7: Delhi:

Early breakfast and begin your city tour of Old Delhi with the Jama Masjid (India’s largest mosque). Take a rickshaw ride and explore the amazing narrow lanes and bazaars, visit Chandni Chowk, stop off at Asia’s biggest Spice market, and drive past the Red Fort. Later visit Raj Ghat, the memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. Take a drive past India Gate (War Memorial Arch), President’s House, Parliament House, and Government Secretariat Buildings. After lunch visit Bangla Sahib Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) and Mahatma Gandhi Museum. End your day with a visit to the Qutub Minar (tallest brick tower in the world). Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 8: Delhi – Jaipur:

After breakfast drive to Jaipur, known as The Pink City. On arrival check-in to your hotel. Afternoon explore and enjoy shopping at Jaipur Market. Jaipur is famous for textiles, handmade jewellery, blue pottery and paintings which makes it a must visit shopping destination. Visit Birla Temple before returning to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

 Day 9: Jaipur:

Early breakfast and then begin your sightseeing at Amber Fort, which was the ancient capital of the state. Ascend the Fort on elephant back or by jeep. Inside this amazing Fort visit Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas and Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Victory glittering with mirrors).  Afternoon tour of Jaipur – visit Jal Mahal (Water Palace), Maharaja’s City Palace and Jantar Mantar. Drive past Hawa Mahal and through the pink rose residential and business areas. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 10: Jaipur – Agra:

After breakfast drive to Agra. En-route stop to visit Fatehpur Sikri – a Mughal ghost town. The city has palaces built in red sand stone and is a site that shows perfect amalgamation of Indo Islamic architecture and culture. On arrival at Agra visit the magnificent Agra Fort. Overnight stay in Agra.

Day 11: Agra – Delhi – Back Home:

Morning at sunrise visit the extravagant monument Taj Mahal, entitled as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. After breakfast, return to Delhi by road, from where you will connect to your international flight home.
